How could BLACK BATS be sooo cute???

Craig is not coaching Matthew's soccer team this year (he's in Wyoming). His new coach's name is Alice, and I'm the assistant.

The other day as we were leaving soccer practice....

Matthew: "I wish Daddy was the coach again."

Mom: "I know."

Matthew: "I don't know my new soccer teacher's name."

Mom: "Her name is Coach Alice and she's your soccer coach."

Matthew: "Oh. She's pretty."

Mom: "Yes, she is. I'm glad you like her."

Matthew: "Ya. But I still like Daddy being the coach. You are a good coach too Mom."

Mom's thought: "That was nice of him to throw me that little bone at the end...wasn't it?" :o)

Matthew continues to crack us up...

On 6/30/08 in the car with Daddy after a swimming lesson...
"When I wear swimming trunks it kinda bothers my privacy."

May of 2008 in the car with Nathaniel and Daddy...
Nathaniel: "I have gas."
Matthew (immediately after that comment and very serious): "Control it, keep it in!"

Tonights Wildcat Football Game...

MAN! I'm sooo glad I didn't miss this game! It was amazing...let me tell you about it!

OK tonight was parents night at the game. That's where parents escort the players onto the field and Bob takes pictures of each player with their parents/siblings. Matthew and I walked with Michael... It was really nice.

So we played Hatch (usually they punish us!)...

From the start of the game until the end of the 4th quarter, we were ahead 13-6. It was a good game, but fairly uneventful.

So with less than a minute on the clock, Hatch scores and it's now 13-12. There's less than a minute on the clock and of course we think we've won, so people start leaving. The game's in the bag right????

After the touchdown, Hatch runs the ball into the endzone and scores another 2 points. So now, it's 13-14....WE'RE LOSING! Everyone was in shock....really.

With 25.1 seconds on the clock now, our boys run the ball maybe 20 yards and then are mowed down by the bears....after this, there is now only 3.9 seconds on the clock!

They hold on to the ball and on the second play, Ricky throws a rocket down the field into the end zone (with the ball in mid air, the clock hits 0.0 and EVERYONE is on the edge of their seats!). Dylan catches the ball in the end zone and our Wildcats score! It was truly AMAZING!

The game ended.

Deming Wildcats - 19
Hatch Bears - 14

Glenn Beck on Sarah Palin

This is a nice video on Sarah Palin.
Whether you are Republican or Democrat, it's a nice video.

Monday, Monday, Monday

Today is truly a typical Monday.

Still sick... allergies and a cold/flu - double whammy!

Matthew has soccer practice today from 5:00pm - 6:00pm.
He likes going to practice. His legs hinder him a little bit, but he just perseveres.
He's such a sweet little boy. I am the assistant coach and enjoy being out there with him.

On Saturday, Matthew had a guitar lesson at 1:30. His instructor, Victor said he is musically inclined.... I'm telling you, watching him play and sing is soooo cute!
After the lesson, we went to a birthday party for a little girl in his class, Riley. It was at Pizza Hut and all the kids had a blast running around.

On Sunday Michael, Matthew and I went to a BBQ at Courthouse Park to support the HS Band and then we went to another park (we call it beaner park) to play on the toys.

Then morning came and the weekened was over.

Dad

Today I am sick. I have a head cold and I think it's moved to my chest again. Anyway, I feel worn down, and sad.
I miss my Dad today. More than I can express in words.

I wish I could pick up the phone and hear his voice.

I wish I could hug him. He had strong arms and a grip of a hug.

I wish I could tell him things.

I wish I had just one more day.
